In my opinion, all design is the same. Whether it be experience design, interior design, industrial design, graphic design – ultimately they all do the same thing: to take the raw materials of the universe and shape them into something that can serve a human purpose.
I am, at my core, a maker. In a pre-colonial society, I would have been the craftsman of my tribe, crafting wooden spoons for our cooks, bows for our hunters, and books for our storytellers. I make things with a deep love for craft, but driven by the understanding that the thing that I'm creating has to serve a purpose beyond myself. A balance of art and engineering that requires attention to both form and function.
I currently work in digital product, where I have nearly 5 years of industry experience. The intersection of creativity and technology has fascinated me my whole life, as it is from there that the greatest cultural changemakers of my lifetime have grown. My goal is to transform culture, not just by bandwagoning on the latest cultural trend or technological bubble, but by developing truly transformative experiences.
